The upcoming electric Mercedes-AMG SUV is getting closer to production, and these latest spy shots offer our clearest look yet at the high-performance model, codenamed X591.
The prototype has shed much of its camouflage, revealing the window line and giving us a better idea of its sporty proportions. Viewed from the side and rear, the SUV has a particularly aggressive stance, with wide wheel arches and a sleek roofline. A vertical air outlet also appears just behind the A-pillar.

The X591 will use Mercedes-AMG’s dedicated AMG.EA electric architecture with 800-volt technology. The same platform underpins the AMG GT 4-Door EV.
Mercedes-AMG has not confirmed the SUV’s powertrain specifications or name, but reports suggest it could share technology with the GT 4-Door. That could mean as much as 1,153 hp and 1,475 lb-ft of torque.

The new Mercedes-AMG SUV is reportedly scheduled to make its world debut on October 17 in Stuttgart, with customer deliveries expected to begin in early 2027.
