Mercedes-AMG is finally ready with its first independently developed electric SUV. It will make its world debut on October 17. The reveal will take place at The 140 Festival by the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, with customer deliveries expected to begin in early 2027.

The full-size SUV was announced in 2024 and will become only the second model built on AMG’s dedicated AMG.EA electric architecture. More importantly, it is the first SUV whose platform has been developed entirely by the Affalterbach performance division.

Earlier teasers suggest the design will share plenty with the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. The Mercedes-AMG electric SUV would feature familiar LED daytime running lights, huge wheel arches, a sculpted bonnet and a large grille expected to use vertical slats.

The similarities continue at the rear, where circular LED taillights feature an illuminated three-pointed-star design.

Mercedes-AMG has not revealed technical specifications yet, but the SUV is expected to share its powertrain with the GT 4-Door as well. That could mean up to 1,153 hp and 1,475 lb-ft of torque.
