The first image of the production-spec 2020 Toyota Supra MkV has leaked online. The image was recently posted on the SupraMkV forum. It shows a silver Supra being transported on a box trailer.

According to the leaked image, the new Supra looks almost identical to the FT-1 Concept. The car has triple-pod headlamps with L-shaped LED running lights. The pointy front end has also been carried over along withe the sculpted front bumper. Here’s an image of the concept for reference.

Moving to the rear of the car, the new Supra looks almost identical to the concept on which it is based, apart from minor changes to the rear bumper area. The triangular tail lights have been carried over and so is the centrally mounted rear fog lamp. The car has twin exhausts and an integrated ducktail spoiler.

The latest Supra was jointly developed with the new BMW Z4. It shares the same platform and is expected to offered with the same 3.0-liter, in-line 6-cylinder engine that produces 340 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. Reports suggest that lower variants could get a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. Like the BMW, the new Supra will be rear-wheel drive and is likely to be offered with an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox. The Supra is expected to have the same rear end as the Bimmer featuring a limited-slip differential.

The new Toyota Supra is set to be unveiled at the 2019 Detroit Motor Show. Toyota UK has already started taking pre-orders.
