Next-gen Audi Q8 confirmed

1 Min Read

Audi has officially confirmed that a second-generation Q8 is on the way. The BMW X6 and Mercedes GLE Coupe rival has been given the green light.

The announcement comes directly from CEO Gernot Döllner, who stated that the new model has been green-lit and is expected to arrive in the “nearer future.” While that’s still vague, it strongly suggests a debut before 2030—most likely around 2028. “When I joined Audi, to my surprise, there was no decision for a successor, but we changed that,” said Döllner.

It’d be interesting to see in which direction Audi moves in terms of the next-gen Q8’s design. Would it be inspired by the Concept C and Nuvolari, or would it borrow the styling cues from the latest Audi Q7 and Q9?

Nothing is confirmed yet, but we cannot rule out the performance-oriented models as well. Perhaps a V8-powered SQ8 or a full-blown RS Q8 would come to see the light of day.
