Nissan has confirmed that the next-generation Skyline will make its official debut in December 2026, bringing one of the company’s most recognisable nameplates into a new era.

Nissan President and CEO Ivan Espinosa confirmed the timing, describing the new Skyline as a very important model for the brand. The sedan will be built at Nissan’s Tochigi plant in Japan.

Interestingly, the development programme has been significantly accelerated. Nissan says AI-driven development helped cut the timeline to just 26 months, roughly half the time normally required for a new model.

The teasers released so far suggest a design inspired by the iconic Hakosuka Skyline, with an aggressive front end, sculpted fenders and distinctive taillight graphics reminiscent of the GT-R.

Nissan has yet to reveal the technical details, although the new Skyline is expected to retain a rear-wheel-drive layout. A hybrid powertrain is one possibility, while there is also speculation about the existing twin-turbo V6 producing more than 400 hp.

A six-speed manual could make the package even more interesting, particularly if a Nismo version eventually joins the range.
