Spotted: $19 Million Bugatti La Voiture Noire in Italy

The one-off Bugatti La Voiture Noire worth $19 million made a public appearance at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy.

More than a modern interpretation of Jean Bugatti’s Type 57 SC Atlantic, the Bugatti La Voiture Noire is a celebration of automotive design. Amidst rumors of the $19 million hypercar being picked up by Cristiano Ronaldo and the confirmation thereafter that the footballer isn’t the owner, the La Voiture Noire landed gently at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy.

This gave car spotters a golden opportunity to snap pics and videos of the exotic Bugatti outside the bright lights of the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. It is still in development and could take a few more years before being delivered to its mystery owner and that makes the stunning form spotted near the Villa d’Este hotel in Cernobbio, on the shores of Lake Como in Italy, a rolling electric prototype.

Powered by electric motors, the prototype is the same one which stole the show in Geneva. That explains the absence of an engine sound in the video from YouTube channel Automotive Mike. Look closely, even the dummy brake calipers are rotating as the wheels spin.

When completed, the Bugatti La Voiture Noire will have a massive quad-turbo W16 8.0-liter engine belting out 1,500 hp of power and 1,180 b-ft of torque. We’re eager to know who exactly is the lucky human blessed to have this ultra-rare hypercar in the garage.
