Bugatti has finally revealed its latest creation – the Bugatti Mistral open-top hypercar. It’s quite significant for the Molsheim-based brand as it’s the last of their models to use the mighty 8.0-liter W16 engine.

The brand bids goodbye to the unique powerplant that has defined modern Bugattis since the days of the Veyron. But, we’re glad that this engineering marvel is going out with bang. In the Mistral, you will find so-called ‘Thor’ spec – the most powerful iteration. This 1600 hp monster is the same unit used in the Chiron Super Sport and Centodieci.

Coming to the car itself – what a beauty! The design is clearly inspired by the Veyron Barchetta concept. The wide horseshoe grille and the wraparound windscreen remind us of that car. The headlamp graphic is reminiscent of the Bugatti Divo, while the rear end draws inspiration from the track-only Bugatti Bolide, in a more classy fashion.

Bugatti is yet to reveal the interior of the Mistral. However, going by the recent coachbuilt models like the Divo and Centodieci, the Mistral’s interior could be similar to that of the Chiron.
