Teased, leaked, and finally all the details of the 444 hp 2020 BMW M2 CS have been released by the carmaker.
Its public debut is set to take place at the Los Angeles Auto Show in a couple of weeks. But the Bavarian manufacturer has released a load of official images and details of the upcoming 2020 BMW M2 CS sports coupe way before the big day.
Powering the M2 CS is a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder motor which churns out 444 hp of power and 406 lb-ft of torque. Choice of transmissions includes a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch. Manual lovers would appreciate how the coupe accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4 seconds. The dual-clutch, on the other hand, is more efficient with a 0.2-second edge over its counterpart. The top speed of both variants is the same – 174 mph.
A lot of carbon-fiber has gone into the making of the 2020 BMW M2 CS with the hood, roof, front splitter, rear spoiler, rear diffuser and mirror caps getting the lightweight material treatment. The interior gets M Competition seats in the midst of acres of Alcantara and leather upholstery garnished by contrast stitching and embroidered stripes.
Stopping power is provided by an excellent setup comprising of six-piston calipers with 15.7-inch discs at the front and four-piston calipers with 15-inch discs at the back. M Carbon Ceramic Brakes can be opted for at a premium, should you need more bite on the track. 19-inch wheels can be picked in either Matte Gold or High-Gloss Jet Black finishes.
Active M Differential and an Adaptive M suspension with Comfort, Sport and Sport+ modes feature in the list of aids on board. Adaptive LED headlights, rear-view camera, park distance control, ambient lighting, dynamic cruise control, infotainment system with GPS navigation and Apple CarPlay compatibility, and a Harman Kardon premium audio system join the lengthy list of nice stuff offered.
Production of the 2020 BMW M2 CS will begin in March next year and prices for German and UK markets have been declared at the moment. That’ll be €95,000 and £75,320 respectively. US market prices will be announced shortly.
