The Toyota GR Supra and BMW Z4 have reached the end of the road in the US. As per a report, both sports cars are now sold out nationwide. Buyers hoping to get a brand-new example will have to turn to the used-car market, as the remaining new-car inventory has dried up.

Production of the two closely related sports cars ended in March 2026 at Magna Steyr’s assembly plant in Austria. The Z4’s future had been uncertain for several years, with rumours of its discontinuation dating back to 2022. BMW introduced a Final Edition in December 2025, while Toyota had already unveiled a similar farewell version of the GR Supra in April that year.

The third-generation Z4 arrived in 2019, followed by the fifth-generation Supra in 2020. That gives the BMW eight model years, compared with six for the Toyota.

Neither automaker has officially explained the decision to end production. However, reports have pointed to weak demand as a possible reason behind the departure of both sports cars.
