More than 200 Mercedes-AMG One hypercars recalled over fire risk
The Mercedes-AMG One hypercar project was marred with delays ever since the car was first announced in 2017. It seems that building a road car with an F1 engine in the back is more complicated than one would’ve imagined.
A complicated machine like the AMG One is bound to have issues. Some are more serious, which is why the company has recalled 219 out of 275 cars globally. The recall has been issued by the Federal Motor Transport Authority of Germany, citing a potential fire risk.
According to the German authorities, the hydraulic line for the active rear spoiler may be missing a pin lock, which could cause hydraulic fluid to leak and ignite.
AMG One hypercars manufactured between December 12, 2022, and May 9, 2025, are affected by this recall. These include 183 units that were sold in Germany.
Now, the recall comes close on the heels of an incident involving an Emerald Green AMG One that was destroyed when it caught fire.
