The McLaren 750S is going out of production next year. The British supercar maker has just announced that its replacement will be called the McL 820.
McLaren recently unveiled a giant kiwi statue in central London. It was wrapped in camouflage featuring the “McL 820” name.
Going by the brand’s traditional naming convention, the ‘McL 820’ nametag also provides another crucial piece of information about the upcoming supercar—its horsepower rating.

The ‘820’ in the name ‘McL 820’ most likely represents the engine output in PS. The current McLaren 750S has a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 750 PS, which is 740 hp. Similarly, the new model could have 809 hp.
A prototype has already been spotted in the United States. However, it’s still unclear if it’s the 750S successor or the Artura replacement.
Meanwhile, McLaren is now accepting final orders for the 750S before it is phased out.
