Bugatti CEO Mate Rimac just had his car stolen, and it was not an ordinary company car, but a $3 million Bugatti Chiron.
Rimac has shared the whole story on his Instagram along with a CCTV clip showing the exact moment when the hypercar was nicked from the factory.
In the video, Rimac states that he has a habit of leaving the keys inside his car, especially when he is at work. He explains how his cars are often used by his colleagues for testing, etc. However, this time, no one knew who took the Chiron out until someone came and told them that it might have been stolen.
Telemetry data showed that the car thief was heading towards Slovenia. So, Mate decided to chase him down in his Porsche 911. But, before he could catch him, the guy entered Austria.
By that time, Croatian law enforcement, along with the Austrian police, was already on the look out for the car, and the guy was apprehended.
