Mercedes working on C592 hypercar based on AMG.EA platform
Mercedes-AMG is reportedly planning three new models based on the AMG.EV electric platform, including a hypercar.
According to MercedesBlog, the new hypercar, codenamed C592, could outperform its current flagship, the AMG One, which uses a Formula 1-inspired hybrid powertrain.
Unfortunately, little is known about the upcoming hypercar. That being said, we know that the AMG.EV platform uses an 800V architecture like the MB.EV platform.
The other two models have already been announced. First up is the AMG GT 4-door coupe, codenamed C590. It will be revealed in its production form next month and will go on sale by the end of this year.
The second model is the brand’s standalone SUV, codenamed X591. According to the carmaker, it is more of a crossover than an SUV and could replace the current Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S. It will be unveiled in 2026 and will go on sale in 2027.
