Maserati is preparing to reveal a new concept in December, and it could offer our first real glimpse at what the brand’s future models would look like. While a new Levante is also in the works, the more intriguing development is the return of the Quattroporte.
However, don’t expect another conventional luxury sedan. Maserati CEO Santo Ficili has hinted at a very different interpretation of the Quattroporte, describing a car that could sit somewhere between a shooting brake and a crossover.

“The story of the Quattroporte, in my mind, for the future is not a sedan. It can be something between a shooting brake and a crossover: a very low, big car to come back to this part of the segment.”
The new concept will preview Maserati’s future design language and is expected to influence both upcoming models. The new Levante will take on established SUVs such as the Porsche Cayenne, BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE, while the Quattroporte could occupy the more distinctive niche – shooting brake.
