A Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Extreme prototype has reportedly broken down at the Nürburgring and been towed away, according to images shared on social media. The pictures show the covered high-performance EV sitting on a flatbed, with only a few details visible.
The front splitter and alloy wheels can be seen beneath the cover, while the outline of a huge rear wing gives away the prototype’s more aggressive track-focused setup. Details about what actually went wrong remain unclear, although the social media post claims the car suffered a breakdown during testing.

Considering the Nürburgring is hardly an easy place to test a performance car, the prototype may simply have been pushed hard before something gave up. For now, though, that’s speculation.
The standard Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is already a serious piece of kit. Its tri-motor setup produces more than 1,500 hp, allowing it to sprint from 0-62 mph in 1.98 seconds and 0-124 mph in just 5.86 seconds.
The Extreme is expected to go considerably further, with reports suggesting an output approaching or even exceeding 2,000 hp.
