Hongqi is preparing to enter the Australian market with a three-model electric SUV lineup, with the first customer deliveries expected to begin in early 2027.
The Chinese luxury brand has confirmed that the large HQ E-HS9 will be joined by the smaller EHS4 and EHS5 SUVs. All three are expected to be available locally by the middle of next year, giving Hongqi a sizable EV presence from the start.
The E-HS9 has already been announced for Australia, while the EHS4 will make its local debut in November 2026. The larger SUV could also appear at the Melbourne EV Show next month, giving Australians an early look at the brand’s upcoming flagship.
Hongqi expects first deliveries to begin in January 2027 and is targeting around 1,000 sales per month once the three SUVs are established. For the long term, the company has set itself a much more ambitious target of 30,000 annual Australian sales.
The SUV trio will eventually be joined by a sedan, giving Hongqi a broader local range as it builds its presence in Australia.
