The old-school Land Rover Defender is making a rather expensive comeback in Australia. Buyers can now commission a remastered example through their local Land Rover dealer, with prices starting at £209,000 (around AUD 403,205), before delivery fees and local taxes. The final bill could approach half a million Australian dollars.
Each vehicle is hand-built by Defender Classic using original Solihull-built donor models. Buyers can choose between Defender 90 Station Wagon, 90 Soft Top and 110 Station Wagon body styles, with more variants expected to follow. There is also a wide choice of colours, trims and other personalisation options.

Power comes from JLR’s naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8, producing 298 kW / 400 hp and 515 Nm / 380 lb ft of torque. It is paired with an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox and a selectable four-wheel-drive system, along with a two-speed transfer case and heavy-duty differentials.
Customers can configure their classic Land Rover Defender online and receive one-on-one support from specialists at Classic Works in Coventry, UK, and Essen, Germany.
