When Ferrari Luce was first revealed, the reaction was immediate—and divided. For many enthusiasts, an all-electric Ferrari sedan felt like a step too far. Questions about identity, heritage, and whether it truly deserved the famous badge came flooding in.
Now, Ferrari is setting the record straight. According to Pietro Virgolin, the brand’s global marketing manager, the Luce meets every standard expected of a modern Ferrari. In his words, it delivers on performance, design, and craftsmanship—just in a very different way.
“From every single point of view, this is a real Ferrari. The motor came from experience on the race side of the company, and that continues with the aerodynamics. The painted front part is a huge wing. It’s not a hood,” said Virgolin.
The Luce has a quad-motor AWD setup to get things going. The total power output is 1035 hp. “You can ask every single area of the car to do exactly what you want without any problems.”
The Luce is Ferrari’s first EV. It also has another “first-ever” feature for the Italian brand – proper five seats. Virgolin comments on this, “At Ferrari, we only produce sports cars. But this one is a car that you can also enjoy with friends.”
When it comes to performance, the Luce is no slouch. “It has the same figures as a hypercar. It can go from 0–120 mph in 6.7 seconds, like a hypercar. But a short wheelbase and low centre of gravity make it like a typical Ferrari Berlinetta.”
