Exclusive! Some dope on the Aston Martin DB12 S: Power & Weight
Aston Martin is working on a sportier version of the DB12. It could be called the DB12 S. A test mule was spied testing at the Nurburgring last month, and we now have some interesting information to share.
Sources have told us that the Aston Martin DB12 S will be launched this year. It is likely to be offered on both coupe and Volante body styles.
We’ve also learnt that the DB12 S will be 50 kg lighter than the standard model and is expected to have around 20 hp more. It will get a new exhaust system with vertically stacked quad tips, similar to the one on the DBX S. The suspension will also be tuned for a more sporty ride.
Currently, the standard DB12 is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. This unit delivers 671 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. So, we can expect the DB12 S to have just under 700 hp.
