German tuner Brabus had organised a massive event last night. The company is said to have showcased around 36 cars, including its latest creation, the Brabus Rocket GTS.

Brabus describes the Rocket GTS as a “hyper gran turismo”. It is based on the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 and features a custom shooting brake exterior, which not only looks unique but also adds a bit of practicality.

The entire body of the Rocket GTS is made from carbon fibre. The body kit is designed to be lightweight and to provide optimal aerodynamic balance on the front and rear axles. The rear section is rounded off with an integrated carbon spoiler, diffuser, and titanium exhaust tips.

The Brabus Rocket GTS is powered by a 4.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine paired with a hybrid system. The higher displacement results in a peak output of 796 hp and 922 lb-ft of torque. The electric drive provides an additional 204 hp for a combined output of 1000 hp. Brabus uses a special crankshaft with a 100 mm stroke, special connecting rods, forged pistons, upgraded turbochargers and a 75 mm downpipe.
