The new BYD Seal 07 has started reaching dealerships in China, ahead of customer deliveries planned for November. Dealer billing notices reportedly put the preliminary allocation price at 180,000 yuan (around $25,250). That’s not the final showroom price, though, so buyers will have to wait for BYD’s official announcement.
This second-generation BYS Seal 07 gets a fresh look and, more importantly, a choice of plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrains. The styling follows BYD’s Ocean Aesthetics 2.0 theme, with split wave-shaped headlights, a closed-off front grille and a full-width rear light bar. There’s also LiDAR mounted on the roof, hinting at the God’s Eye B driver-assistance system.

The PHEV pairs a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with a 160 kW (214 hp) motor and a 38.029 kWh LFP battery. Its claimed electric range is 245 km / 152 miles on the WLTC cycle.
The electric version is the quicker one on paper, producing 400 hp and reaching 240 kmph / 150 mph. BYD claims up to 718 km / 446 miles of WLTP range.
