Aston Martin DBS successor spied; could be called Vanquish
Having launched the DB12 and Vantage, Aston Martin has now shifted its focus to its flagship model. The latest spy images suggest that the replacement for the DBS is already under development.
The Aston Martin DBS successor is expected to be based on the DB12. The test mule has an uncanny resemblance with the brand’s grand tourer. However, it appears to have a wider grille, larger bonnet vents and a more substantial rear diffuser.
While technical details of the DBS successor are still under wraps, reports suggest it might use an upgraded version of the 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 from the DBS 770 Ultimate. The car is also expected to get other updates, including a stiffer chassis and a revised suspension setup for sharper handling characteristics.
Interestingly, it has been rumored that Aston Martin might use the Vanquish moniker for its flagship GT car after plans for a mid-engined Vanquish supercar fell through.
The DBS successor will go up against Ferrari’s new V12 GT, which will replace the 812 Superfast.
