Land Rover is recalling nearly 94,000 Range Rover SUVs over an issue that could leave drivers without a properly functioning rearview camera. The recall covers 93,997 vehicles from the 2022 through 2026 model years, regardless of their powertrain.

The affected Range Rover SUVs were built at Land Rover’s Solihull plant in the UK between July 8, 2021, and June 4, 2026. According to recall documents, the problem stems from the tailgate’s water drainage system.

If water isn’t cleared properly, moisture can collect around the rearview camera. Over time, this can damage the unit, resulting in a distorted image on the central touchscreen or, in some cases, no image at all when reverse is selected. Either situation could increase the risk of a crash or injury.

Fortunately, the fix is fairly simple. Land Rover dealers will drill extra drain holes in the underside of the tailgate trim to assist with water drainage. Technicians will also check the camera and replace it at no charge if needed.

Dealers will be notified on October 29, while owners should receive recall letters by December 11.
