Ford has revived the ‘California Special’ name ahead of the Mustang’s 60th anniversary. The Blue Oval has introduced the 2024 Mustang GT California Special in Fastback and Cabrio body styles.
You are unlikely to miss a Mustang California Special in a parking lot courtesy of its Rave Blue exterior highlights. The car gets blue details on the grille, blue decals and badges with a blue halo around them. The optional 19-inch machined alloy wheels get Rave Blue accents to match the theme and tinted headlights.
Inside, the Mustang California Special features perforated Navy Pier upholstery and Ebony Black leather with Raptor Blue and Metal Grey stitching on the seats, dashboard, centre console, steering wheel and door panels. It gets GT/CS floor mats as well.
The California Special is only available with the 5.0-liter V8 engine paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic gearbox. It will be sold as a package priced at $1,995 over the GT Premium variant.
The 2024 Mustang GT California Special will make its public debut at the La Auto Show on November 16.
