Morgan Midsummer coupe (1)

Morgan Midsummer is a retro-modern coupe with a limited run of 9 units

The Morgan Midsummer, originally a 50-unit coachbuilt roadster, now gets an ultra-exclusive coupe version limited to just nine cars. It also marks Morgan’s return to fixed-roof models for the first time since 2015.

The Morgan Midsummer Coupe isn’t just a covered roadster. The design has been reworked to suit the fixed glass-heavy roof, giving it slightly different proportions and a more refined look. More importantly, the new aluminium roof structure adds extra stiffness to the chassis, making it more rigid than the open-top version.

As expected from Morgan, the craftsmanship is top-notch. For example, the metal body panels are hand-shaped and finished using traditional techniques, but designed using modern tools and methods. Underneath all that aluminium, Morgan’s signature ash wood frame is still present and plays a structural role.

Inside, the showcased car features white leather and teak trim. However, each of the nine buyers will personalise their cars to their taste, making every Midsummer Coupe truly one of a kind.
