M3 CS Touring: BMW adds more spice to its ultimate family car

BMW has taken the wraps off the M3 CS Touring ahead of the Bathurst 12 Hours race. The new sporty estate will be available in select markets, including Europe, Australia, Japan and South Korea, with prices starting at approximately $150,000. Unfortunately, BMW won’t sell it in America.

The BMW M3 CS Touring is a hotter, sportier version of the standard M3 Touring. It features a carbon fibre hood, front splitter, air intakes, mirrors and a carbon diffuser, resulting in a weight reduction of 15 kg.

The car also gets a slightly different grille and yellow LED DRLs. It rides on new M light alloy wheels with 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the back.

Inside, the M3 CS Touring gets sporty M Carbon bucket seats that can be electronically adjusted and have a heating function. It has dual screens and a flat-bottom steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara.

Powering the M3 CS Touring is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine that produces 543 BHP and 479 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to all four wheels. BMW claims a 0-62 mph time of 3.5 seconds, while 124 mph comes up in 11.7 seconds. The top speed is pegged at 186 mph.
