Lanzante will make the Red Bull RB17 hypercar road-legal

The Red Bull RB17 hypercar, designed by the legendary Formula 1 designer Adrian Newey, was recently unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It’s a track car with absolutely ridiculous levels of performance. But how about you could drive it on public roads?

According to Top Gear, early customers of the RB17 have reached out to Lanzante to develop the necessary upgrades that would allow it to be driven on public roads. The modifications would help it tackle speed bumps, but they would, by no means, transform the RB17 into a practical daily driver.

“Following on from a bumper Goodwood Festival of Speed, British automotive engineering specialist Lanzante has confirmed it will work on road legalisation of the newly announced Red Bull RB17,” the company said in a statement.

“Lanzante will work closely with owners to develop a road legal version of the V10-powered RB17, ensuring the project stays true to the original design brief, allowing for optimised performance on track, but also useable on road,” the company said.

The Red Bull RB17 is powered by a Cosworth-built 4.5-liter V10 engine that revs to 15,000 rpm and delivers 986 hp. Additionally, a 197 hp electric motor takes over at low speeds and assists the engine with torque-fill.
