This year, Hennessey Performance is celebrating its anniversary with a special edition based on the Mustang Dark Horse. It’s called the Super Venom Mustang, and only 91 examples will be produced.
The Hennessey Super Venom Mustang features several aerodynamic and performance upgrades. Starting with the exterior, the car is fitted with the ‘VenomAero’ carbon fibre package designed to improve handling and performance on the road and at the racetrack. It includes a front splitter, a functional front hood vent, side skirts, functional front fender louvers, a rear deck lid with an integrated duck bill, and a tall, fixed rear track wing.
It comes with a bespoke ’91 Icon livery, the Hennessey signature logo ghosted into the rear wing, Super Venom badges, and 20-inch lightweight performance wheels.
The Super Venom has a leather interior with Alcantara seats, an embossed Hennessey signature logo, a retrimmed centre console and a tailor-made plaque with the car’s individual serial number.
Under the hood is a 5.0-liter V8 engine, that delivers 70% more horsepower and 55% more torque than the stock Coyote. Peak output is rated at 850 hp and 650 lb-ft at 4,900 rpm. This has been achieved with a high-flow air induction system, a high-performance supercharger, upgraded fuel injectors, and fuel pump, all controlled by Hennessey’s engine management system.
Hennessey claims a 0-60 mph time of just 3.2 seconds. The quarter mile is done and dusted in 10.9 seconds at 133 mph.
The Super Venom is available in two variants: Dark Horse and GT, priced at $163,950 and $149,950, respectively.
