Ford is steadily building momentum toward its return to top-tier endurance racing, and the latest glimpse of its upcoming Le Mans hypercar is all about the sound.
As development continues ahead of the next FIA World Endurance Championship season, the Ford Le Mans hypercar has now been put through simulated lap testing. Instead of hitting the actual Circuit de la Sarthe, Ford’s engineers are using advanced driver-in-loop simulators to fine-tune performance.
A short clip shared by Ford Performance offers a teaser of what’s to come. It doesn’t show the full lap, but it delivers something more exciting—the noise. The 5.4-litre V8 screams all the way to a 9,000 rpm redline, giving a raw soundtrack.
The simulator setup includes a partial section of bodywork, hinting at the final design direction of the hypercar. While details remain limited, it’s clear that development is progressing quickly behind the scenes.
There’s still no official reveal date, but testing is expected to ramp up this month. That suggests the finished race car could break cover sooner rather than later.
