Fabrizio Giugiaro has revisited one of his most recognisable designs, the Lamborghini Gallardo, and given it a modern makeover. Called HOMMAGE 26, the project comes from a new company named CAVËN Atelier and was unveiled at the Concours at Wynn Las Vegas.
The reworked Lamborghini Gallardo has the familiar proportions of the original, but almost everything else is new. Its body is made entirely from carbon fibre, with only a handful of components, including the roof, glass and mirrors, carried over from the donor car. It also gets pop-down headlights, active aerodynamic flaps and a redesigned rear section with an opening window above the engine bay.
Power comes from a reworked 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V10 by Italtecnica. Paired with a manual gearbox, it produces 540 hp in GT form and 560 hp in the more aggressive Performance version, with a redline of 8,500 rpm.
CAVËN Atelier will build just 25 examples, with prices starting at €900,000, excluding the donor Gallardo.
