Exclusive: Toyota GR Super Sport Hypercar possible Engine Specs Leaked!

As we have reported earlier, Toyota is likely to unveil the road version of the GR Super Sport Le Mans race car next month. But, today we have a more interesting bit of rumor to share with you guys.

From what we’ve heard through our sources is that the GR Super Sport hypercar could be powered by a 2.4-liter, twin-turbo V6 “Competition” engine. The internal combustion engine will be complemented by three electric motors. We still don’t know exactly how these motors will be positioned in the car. But, the big rumor is that the combined output will be around 1400 hp!

We are still awaiting confirmation from our sources about this rumor. However, if this turns out to be true, then the GR Super Sport will be keeping company with some of the hypercar elites like the Koenigsegg Jesko, Bugatti Chiron and Mercedes-AMG One.

Leaked patent images indicate that the Toyota hypercar will not have conventional doors. The car might get a canopy that would swing up to let the driver in. Now, that feature alone is bound to cause a stir wherever you go.

The first road cars are expected to be delivered in 2022.
