All-electric BMW M3 confirmed; could get 1341 hp quad-motor setup
The BMW Vision Neue Klasse Concept was recently showcased at the Munich Motor Show. It previews the next-generation 3 Series and the subsequent M3 sports sedan.
Frank Weber, member of the board of management for BMW Group development, has stated that the company will offer an all-electric M3 in addition to the conventional ICE version.
Without being too specific, Weber revealed that the Neue Klasse platform can handle up to 1000 kW from a quad-motor drivetrain. It also means that the upcoming pure-electric M3 could pack as much as 1341 hp. He also hinted that torque vectoring could be part of the package.
The production version of the next-gen 3 Series based on the Neue Klasse is expected to debut in 2025. Weber said that the tentative date for the arrival of the M3 EV is 2027.
