The V12 engine may still have a future at Mercedes-Benz. When CEO Ola Källenius was asked whether the company could offer something for customers who still want twelve cylinders, his response was short but certainly interesting: “Watch this space.”
That is hardly confirmation of a new V12-powered model, but it suggests the German brand hasn’t completely forgotten about buyers who want the smoothness and character of a twelve-cylinder engine.

Mercedes already offers a twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre V12 in the Maybach S-Class and the armoured S-Class Guard, although availability varies by market. The question now is whether the engine could eventually find its way into another model.
For now, that remains pure speculation. Källenius didn’t reveal a vehicle, development plan or timeline, so there’s no guarantee that another V12 Mercedes is coming. Still, his response is enough to keep the conversation alive.
