Lewis Hamilton has been spotted in his newly acquired Ferrari F40, leaving the company’s factory in Maranello.

Although Hamilton isn’t clearly visible in the footage, the Instagram post says that the seven-time world champion was dressed in black as he drove the iconic red supercar through the factory gates. Ferrari staff and mechanics in their familiar red uniforms gathered nearby, with several recording the moment on their phones.

This isn’t just any F40, either. Hamilton’s example reportedly spent more than three decades sitting in a garage before being discovered and brought back to life through an extensive Ferrari Classiche restoration.

The car also carries a personal touch. Its licence plate features Hamilton’s famous number 44, giving the classic supercar a connection to his racing career.

The F40 has an important place in Ferrari history as well. It was the final road car personally approved by company founder Enzo Ferrari before his death.
