Mercedes-AMG working on an even more powerful GT 4-Door Coupe EV

2 Min Read

The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe EV was revealed earlier this year. It was one of the highly anticipated models of 2026. Apart from its radical design, the electric vehicle was in the news because of its output figures – 1153 hp and 1475 lb-ft of torque. Apparently, that’s not enough for Mercedes-AMG because the German brand seems to be working on an even more powerful GT 4-Door Coupe EV.

Reports have emerged stating that a lightly camouflaged prototype has been caught testing. It seems to be based on the GT63 variant of the GT 4-Door Coupe EV. Noticeable changes include a more pronounced front splitter, a ventilated hood, and a rear wing. The rear spoiler also seems to be slightly revised for the added oomph.

While no details regarding the prototype’s performance or power figures are known as of now, Mercedes-AMG is likely to carry over the same setup from the GT63 variant, and perhaps extract some more juice from it.

For reference, the three axial flux motors of the GT63 make enough power to help the EV complete the 0-60 mph dash in 2 seconds. Its top speed is limited to 186 mph. It even makes a fake V8 sound under hard acceleration.
