Mercedes-Benz has revealed the all-new AMG GT 4-Door. It’s no longer powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine, but instead has an electric powertrain that promises hypercar-levels of performance.
The 2027 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door EV is based on the AMG.EA architecture. It uses a 106 kWh battery pack that powers three axial flux motors – one in the front and one each to power the rear wheels.

There are two variants on offer. In the GT55 trim, you get 805 hp and 1328 lb-ft of torque, which allows the car to sprint from 0-60 mph in just 2.4 seconds.
The GT63, though, puts hypercars to shame with 1153 hp and 1475 lb-ft of torque. Mercedes says the dash from 0-60 mph takes just 2 seconds. Top speed for both variants is limited to 186 mph. It even makes a fake V8 sound under hard acceleration.

The AMG GT 4-Door can cover up to 435 miles on a single charge. The battery supports ultra-fast charging up to 600 kW, which can add more than 286 miles of range in 10 minutes.
Now, coming to the elephant in the room – the styling. Out of all the recent designs we’ve seen from Mercedes, the AMG GT 4-Door has to be the worst.

The styling is based on the AMG GT XX concept. It features a wide, low-set grille with illuminated vertical strakes. The headlamps feature star-shaped DRLs and are connected by a light bar on the GT63 variant.
In the rear is a black fascia that houses three circular taillights and a continuous LED light bar on the top.

Inside, you get a sporty 3-spoke steering wheel and a digital cluster. The central touchscreen is angled towards the driver, and there’s a third screen for the passenger.
The 2027 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door is expected to arrive in showrooms by the end of this year.
