A McLaren F1 is heading to auction next month. The 90s legend will be up for grabs at the RM Sotheby’s auction during Monterey Car Week. The supercar is expected to fetch around $23 million.
This McLaren F1 is chassis #062, which was delivered to Oracle Software CEO Larry Ellison. It’s one of just 7 cars that were imported into the United States.
This F1 has had three owners since 1997 and currently has 6,500 miles on the odometer. Ellison sold it in 2005 with 2,600 miles on the clock. The current owner purchased it in 2010.
The car is equipped with several McLaren Special Operations upgrades, including a sport exhaust, an upgraded air conditioning system, upgraded radiators and an aluminium fuel tank.
A major service was done in October 2023, which included rebuilding the transmission, new spark plugs, a new battery and fresh tires. McLaren Philadelphia also conducted some repairs to the gold foil that lines the engine compartment.
Now, the question is, will we see yet another record being set by a McLaren F1 at auction?
