Porsche has introduced the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid – the most powerful iteration of its flagship SUV. Besides improved performance, the carmaker also claims enhancements in usability and driving dynamics.
The Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid uses a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, paired with a 174 hp electric motor. With a combined output of 730 hp and 701 lb-ft of torque, the SUV is capable of accelerating from 0-62 mph in 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 183 mph.
The Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid is equipped with a 25.9 kWh battery pack. The higher-capacity battery permits an electric range of up to 51 miles. It also comes with a new 11 kW on-board charger that reduces the charging time to less than 2.5 hours.
As standard, the new Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid features adaptive air suspension with two-chamber, two-valve technology that allows independent tuning of rebound and compression stages, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) and rear-axle steering.
The flagship variant of the Cayenne also gets several design changes over the Turbo models. It has larger cooling air intakes highlighted by glossy black airblades, wheel arch trims and rear bumper in the body color, a pair of brushed stainless steel twin tailpipes and red brake calipers.
The SUV gets aluminium inlays on the interior, with the roof lining covered in Race-Tex material. Standard equipment comprises a heated GT sports steering wheel, a mode switch for swift and direct selection of driving modes, and 18-way adjustable leather sports seats. Alternatively, 14-way adjustable leather comfort seats are also available. There’s a curved free-standing all-digital instrument cluster, a redesigned center console, and an optional passenger display.
Porsche has also introduced the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe, which can complete the sprint from 0-62 mph in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 190 mph.
The 2023 Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid is now available in Germany at a starting price of €176,324, including VAT.
