The EcoBoost range gets a humongous boost with the 2019 New York Auto Show debut of the Ford Mustang EcoBoost High Performance variant which churns out 330 hp of power.

Remember that entry-level performance Mustang that we were talking about a few days ago? Well, the 2019 New York Auto Show witnessed the debut of that car – the Ford Mustang EcoBoost High Performance – and it’s going to make fans of the “affordable” Mustang range very happy.

The High Performance Package adds all the necessary mods needed to make the otherwise tamer 4-cylinder-propelled Mustang EcoBoost a firecracker. The major highlight is of course that 2.3-liter detuned engine borrowed from the Ford Focus RS. Put together in Valencia, Spain and then shipped to Flat Rock so that it can nestle comfortably inside the engine bay of the 2020 model year Mustang, the engine boasts of a redesigned turbocharger.

Ford has adjusted the power output in quite an interesting manner. The same unit produces 350 hp in the Focus RS. But in the Ford Mustang EcoBoost High Performance Package it settles for 330 hp of power and 350 lb-ft of torque. That’s 20 hp more than the power figure of standard Mustang EcoBoost. More power to the people is always a good thing.

On premium fuel, the High Performance Package-endowed Mustang EcoBoost can do the 0-60 mph run in the mid-4-second range. Top speed is 155 mph – a clean 10 mph edge over the 2019 EcoBoost Performance Package and a staggering 34 mph advantage over the regular Mustang EcoBoost.

Turning the package more brutal is a fully active quad-tip exhaust system, which makes the car sound better, extensive chassis tuning comprising of suspension components and brakes taken from the V8 Mustang GT, a 3.55 ratio limited-slip rear differential and a recalibrated steering system.

Visual tweaks involve a new front splitter and belly pan and brake cooling ramps sourced from the Mustang GT Performance Package, a blacked-out grille with offset Mustang tri-bar pony logo, 2.3L High Performance Package side badges, magnetic gray side mirrors, a slick rear spoiler and a unique metallic gray stripe crosses the hood. The whole deal stands on 19″ wheels shod with 255/40 summer tires.
