An era has quietly come to a close at Bugatti. With the completion of the 99th Bugatti Mistral, the brand bids farewell to one of the most extraordinary engines ever built—the quad-turbocharged W16.
First introduced in the Bugatti Veyron back in 2005, the 8.0-litre masterpiece redefined what a production car could achieve. Nearly two decades later, it exits the stage.

This final Bugatti Mistral, aptly named “The Last of Its Kind,” is more than just a send-off. Finished in a striking Pearl and Sparkle two-tone, it stands as a rolling tribute. Like every Mistral before it, the car is effectively a one-off, tailored down to the smallest detail. Inside, Magnolia leather meets Grey Carbon Matt accents, while Ettore Bugatti’s signature is carefully placed across the cabin and even within the engine cover trim.

The W16 engine also powered the track-only Bugatti Bolide. Paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, it produces 1,825 hp and 1475 lb-ft of torque. The car weighs just 1450 kg (dry), which gives it a power-to-weight ratio of more than 1100 hp per tonne.
