Bugatti Tourbillon start-up sequence shown from driver’s POV

Starting a Bugatti Tourbillon is clearly not as simple as turning a key or pressing a conventional button.

An Instagram video gives us a driver’s-eye view of the process, showing the stunning cockpit and its beautifully crafted centre console. The engine start/stop button is right there, but pressing it once doesn’t fire up the car.

Instead, the button pops out from the console. It appears to be the moment when the car runs through its start-up checks, with systems such as the fuel pumps coming to life. The driver then pulls the button, and the Tourbillon’s enormous V16 comes to life with a proper roar.

The video doesn’t stop there. The driver gives the engine a few revs, and the response is almost as impressive as the sound. The naturally aspirated V16 climbs through the rev range incredibly quickly, even touching 9,000 rpm.

And then there’s the cockpit itself. The Tourbillon’s intricate instrument cluster, exposed mechanical details and beautifully designed dials make the entire start-up sequence feel that much more special.
