Unfair Roll Racing: 840 HP Dodge Demon vs 1,000 HP Hennessey-Tuned Corvette ZR1

Totally unfair comparison from Hennessey as they line up an 840 hp stock Dodge Demon against a 1,000 hp Hennessy-tuned Corvette ZR1, complete with the HPE1000 pack.

Well of course, the 1,000 hp Corvette won this roll racing battle. With the entire line-up of modifications from the Hennessey HPE1000 package in place, the ZR1 didn’t even give the Dodge Demon a chance to emerge victorious. It’s an unfair battle as the 840 horses of the Demon couldn’t do much to stop the Chevy from running away with the winner status.

Picking the winning American is easy from the moment you read the spec sheets. The dragstrip-focused Dodge Challenger Demon is not a car to be trifled with usually. But when a far more powerful Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 with Hennessey HPE1000 package is in the parallel lane, the result can be seen from space. Having said that, do note that despite its heavier weight and relatively lesser number of horses, the stock Dodge Demon does manage to stay close to the tuned Corvette ZR1 in certain sections of the video.

The Demon was recently proved to have a higher top speed than the official company claim of 168 mph. JBPG chaps took a 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon to 211 mph last month. The Hennessey Corvette ZR1 HPE1000 on the other hand, covered a quarter mile in 9.52 seconds at 144.81 mph at the Houston Raceway Park recently. That’s a record for C7 Corvettes.

So what we would love to see is a proper, no holds barred drag race featuring these two.
