During an interview with Top Gear, Mate Rimac, CEO of Rimac Automobili, revealed that the company was working on a single-seater track car that would be faster than an F1 and Le Mans racecar.
“Picture this with me: a Rimac single seater that’s going to be faster than any race car for most tracks,” Mate said. “Faster than Formula 1. Faster than Le Mans,” he added.
This was back in August, and we were expecting the track hypercar to be revealed this month. However, it seems the unveiling has been postponed. The Croatian EV maker, though, may have just dropped a teaser in its official magazine.
The image shows the Nevera and Nevera R in the background and a third car, which clearly looks like a single-seater. It appears to have a fighter jet-style canopy, similar to the McLaren Solus GT. It might also have a sharp nose section with massive aero surfaces on either side.
Technical details of Rimac’s single-seater track car are still unknown, except for the fact that it will be propelled by electric motors.
