Fresh details about the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 successor suggest that the upcoming model will be offered exclusively as a coupe.
Unlike the more powerful Dark Horse SC, which is available with both a fixed roof and a soft-top convertible, the new variant will not get an open-top version. This also follows the approach taken with the previous S550-generation Shelby GT350, which was sold only as a coupe.

Pricing is expected to position the car between the standard Dark Horse and the Dark Horse SC. The 2026 Dark Horse starts at around $65,000, while the SC carries a much higher starting price of approx $106,000. A price in the $80,000 range could make sense for the new model, although Ford has yet to confirm anything.
Its official name remains under wraps, but the Dark Horse badge is expected to feature somewhere in it. The new Mustang is reportedly scheduled to reach dealerships in 2027 as a 2027 model-year offering.
