Porsche has given us our first glimpse of the upcoming Mission S Concept, with the new sports car set to make its official debut on October 15.
The teaser video reveals the car in small pieces rather than showing the full design. We can spot Porsche’s familiar logo, slim LED headlights with integrated DRLs, sculpted bodywork, sleek taillights and parts of the alloy wheels. There are also several aerodynamic details and Porsche lettering visible in the short clip.
Porsche has kept the technical side under wraps for now, making the Mission S particularly intriguing. Reports suggest it could use a dedicated platform with a combustion engine rather than a purely electric powertrain.
A mid-engine layout has also been tipped, potentially giving the Mission S a distinct position in Porsche’s range rather than making it another 911 derivative.
The powertrain is expected to be developed in-house, rather than shared with Lamborghini or Audi.
For now, there are more questions than answers. Porsche should reveal much more when the covers finally come off on October 15.
