The 2026 Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC has already looked seriously quick on paper, but MotorTrend’s testing shows just how much performance is hiding underneath.
With 795 hp from its supercharged engine, the Dark Horse SC sprinted from 0-60 mph in just 2.9 seconds. It reached 100 mph in 6.2 seconds before completing the quarter mile in 10.8 seconds at 131.8 mph.

Those numbers put it comfortably ahead of the 2020–2022 Shelby GT500. The quickest GT500 tested by MotorTrend needed 3.6 seconds to reach 60 mph, 7.0 seconds to hit 100 mph and 11.3 seconds for the quarter mile.
That is a sizeable difference, proving the Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC is much more than a modern take on the old Shelby formula.

There is only one Mustang currently quicker. The 815 hp GTD managed 0-60 mph in 2.7 seconds and covered the quarter mile in 10.5 seconds at 134.9 mph.
For a Mustang costing far less than the $330,000 GTD, the Dark Horse SC is seriously impressive.
