The wait for the new Tesla Roadster just got a little longer. Its much-anticipated October 1 reveal has officially been postponed.
Tesla confirmed the news in a post on X, announcing that the electric sports car will now be unveiled on October 15. The event is still expected to take place at SpaceX’s rocket test facility in McGregor, Texas.
The post says, “We’ve been tracking the weather closely with local meteorologists, but given the severe conditions predicted & because this event can only be held outdoors, we’ve made the difficult decision to reschedule. New date is October 15. Additional details to follow.”
The delay comes shortly after Tesla reopened reservations for the long-awaited Roadster. Buyers need to commit $50,000 to secure a place in line, comprising an initial $5,000 credit-card payment followed by a $45,000 wire transfer.
