Military green Porsche 911 Dakar & matching Huracan Sterrato share the same garage

Last year, a good friend of ours took delivery of his Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato. It’s a special car not just because of its Verde Turbine exterior color but also because it was the first production Sterrato to leave the factory.

The owner regularly drives his supercars like a true petrolhead. In fact, one of his other cars, the Lotus Elise Cup 250 Final Edition, has been all over Europe. So, we were surprised when he told us that the Huracan Sterrato still had delivery miles on it. Little did we know that he was waiting for the delivery of yet another special car.

The Huracan Sterrato will soon share garage space with a matching Porsche 911 Dakar that was customized under Porsche’s Sonderwunsch programme. Shmee150 recently got a chance to check out the unique 911 Dakar ahead of its official handover.

Like the Sterrato, the 911 Dakar also has a rugged, military vehicle look to it, partly thanks to the green exterior with matching wheels and black trim. The car is also fitted with several optional accessories like the roof carrier with the spare wheel and jerry cans. The skid plates were anodized black, especially for this car. The interior too gets special touches like the extended leather, corduroy seat inserts and door pads, rubber floor mats and unique kick plates that say, “Roads? Where we are going, we don’t need roads.”

Powering the 911 Dakar is the same twin-turbo flat-6 engine as the Carrera 4 GTS. It packs 473 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque, which drives all four wheels via an 8-speed PDK. The car comes with two new driving modes – Rallye and Off-Road. Porsche claims it will do 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds, but its top speed is limited to 150 mph.
