2019 Mercedes-AMG GT S Roadster Unveiled; Launch in July
The new Mercedes-AMG GT S Roadster is priced at £126,730 and is positioned between GT Roadster and GT C Roadster.
Mercedes-AMG has lifted off the covers from the GT S Roadster. As expected, the GT S Roadster looks exactly the same as the GT S, save for the fact that its soft top roof can be opened for that special wind-in-the-hair motoring experience.
Positioned between the 469 hp GT Roadster and 569 hp GT C Roadster, the new Mercedes-AMG GT S Roadster’s 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 engine pumps out 515 hp of maximum power output and 494 lb-ft of peak torque spin. All this power is sent to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. Thanks to these figures, the GT S Roadster is capable of doing 0-62 mph in 3.8 seconds and achieving a top speed of 191 mph.
Apart from this boost in performance outputs, the new Mercedes-AMG GT S Roadster is also blessed with standard sports exhaust, an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, adaptive dampers and 19-inch front and 20-inch rear alloy wheels. Also, in addition to these goodies, customers can also opt for the AMG Dynamic Plus package, which includes firmer suspension, active engine mount, quicker-responding steering and Nappa leather and Dinamica upholstery. Other optional extras are ceramic brakes, four wheel steering system and Driving Assistance package adds blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist and other safety systems.
With the GT S Roadster, the GT Model range from Mercedes-AMG now totals to 12 models, including the recently unveiled versions of the GT 4-door coupe. Mercedes-AMG has priced the GT S Roadster at £126,730, while pre-orders for the car now open around July-August, 2018.
