McLaren 600LT Spider gets a PRICE TAG in the US Market
The McLaren 600LT Spider has arrived in US dealerships and despite the hefty price tag, the supercar is going to sell out quickly.
All units of the McLaren 600LT Coupe allotted for the US market has sold out already. But, if you really want to have the open-top variant, you’ve still got luck on your side, provided there is $256,500 in the bank. The McLaren 600LT Spider – the fifth car to bear McLaren’s Longtail (LT) namesake – has arrived in US dealerships and it’s time to be as competitive as you ever can when it comes to the game of placing the order for a coveted supercar.
Powered by the same 3.8-liter V8 engine that produces 592 hp of power and 457 lb-ft of torque in the hardtop variant, the 600LT Spider has the same performance as the Coupe. The unique carbon-fiber Monocell II chassis employed in the 600LT range negated the need for additional bracing or strengthening. And that move led to the Spider being as good as the Coupe in its performance and road manners. Top speed is the exact same too – 201 mph.
Coming to the main highlight, the three-piece, retractable roof raises or lowers at speeds up to 25 mph. At the back, there is a fixed rear wing which doesn’t just enhance the Longtail’s silhouette but also endows it with 220.5 lbs of downforce at 155 mph. Forged aluminum, double-wishbone suspension system with re-calibrated dampers and bespoke Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo R tires aid in taking the corners with confidence.
McLaren Automotive hasn’t announced the number of units which have been allotted for the American market. So the best way ahead is to go ahead and make that booking before these hand-assembled exotics are lapped up by celebrities with a quarter million to spare.
